Cruise fair at Globetrotter
Today I was at the travel agency Globetrotters cruise fair in Stockholm! It was the second year they arranged this and this year the fair had grown from one to two days.
I was in place early, just before the fair opened even, and I was not really alone. One of Globetrotter's cruise specialists who were in place told me that they had received the entire 780 registered for the fair. Obviously, they were very excited about the strong response from their customers.
"Last year's fair was a success and it is very fun to see that the interest for our second cruise fair is so great. We know that many of our customers appreciate the opportunity to meet our knowledgeable staff and shipping companies' representatives in order to ask questions and help with the planning of the next cruise, "said Jan Josefsson, CEO of Globetrotter.
18 shipping companies in total
When I participated in one of the presentations, I could not help hearing how the participants talked to each other and almost tried to break each other in the mighty cruises they were on! One thing is for sure, I was even impressed without knowing it - both of the trips they were on and the countries they visited!
A total of 18 shipping companies were included at the fair: Azamara Club Cruises, Carnival, Celebrity Cruises, Costa Cruises, Cunard, Fred Olsen, Holland America Line, Hurtigruten, MSC Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises, P & O Cruises, Princess Cruises, Regent Seven Seas , Royal Caribbean, Seabourn, SeaDream Yacht Club and Silversea.
I am not around to everyone but he makes me pretty much alive again, I already knew a lot of things. 🙂
New ships and routes
Several of the visitors talked well about Azamara Club Cruises excursions (although some compared to Regent Seven Seas where they liked that even more excursions were included, almost all of them as the most exclusive by helicopter or private guide).
Carnival Cruises has launched a new ship this spring (Carnival Horizon), Royal Caribbean (Symphony of the Seas) and Norwegian Cruise Line (Norwegian Bliss). MSC Cruises also launches new ships this year (MSC Seaview) as well as Celebrity Cruises (Celebrity Edge).
Cunard talked about their World Cruises which are apparently very popular as well as their routes in South America. From Holland America Line, I was told that they renovated their ship Zuiderdam and that the style would now be implemented across the fleet.
New technology and the definition of luxury
Hurtigruten felt very nice and proud of both its expedition program and new ship Roald Amundsen coming next year using hybrid technology. Regent Seven Seas - who celebrates 25 as a shipping company this year - spoke a lot about the luxury's three corners space, freedom and time, as well as their ships, Seven Seas Explorer, which they mean are the world's most luxurious ships. Seabourns ship Ovation, who makes his summer season here in the Nordic region this year (several from Copenhagen and from Stockholm), I guess I play in the same league.
Several of the shipping companies had some kind of special offer for fair visitors, from discounts to money to spend on board, free drinks and wifi or anything else. A very nice and rewarding event for everyone involved, I think and, most likely, we will see a reprisal next year.https://www.seafun.se/blogg/kryssningsmassa-hos-globetrotter/https://www.seafun.se/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/MG_6480_1.jpghttps://www.seafun.se/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/MG_6480_1-150x150.jpgAzamara Club CruisesBlogCarnivalCelebrity CruisesCostaCunardFred Olsen Cruise LineHolland America LineHurtigrutenMSC CruisesNorwegian Cruise LineOceania CruisesP & O CruisesPrincess CruisesRegent Seven Seas CruisesRoyal Caribbean InternationalSeabournSeaDream Yacht ClubSilverseaStar Clippersglobetrotter, cruises, cruise trade show, exhibition, travel agencies, Stockholm, wingToday I was at the travel agency Globetrotters cruise fair in Stockholm!
