When I'm still on our Atlantic crossing with Queen Mary 2 (Cunard), I'm happy to tell you about the other spa treatments I tested too (yes, excuse all the spa uninterested, the rest of you: read and njuuuut ;-)):

My first positive impression of the Canyon Ranch SpaClub was fortified even more after I had a chat with Nenad Trampa and his right hand Amanda Wilson.

- Queen Mary 2 is the only ship in Cunard's fleet that has Canyon Ranch SpaClub, told Nenad and continued; Cunard wanted something different on his flagship QM2 launched for 10 years ago. Canyon Ranch has a more holistic approach that is highly appreciated by the guests.

In addition to an extensive spameny with many treatments, the concept also contains special spam as Canyon Ranch chief chef Scott Uehlein has developed.

- In the main restaurant here aboard Queen Mary 2 there are several of his spades on the menu and the chefs are trained by Scott Uehlein himself, says Nenad.

In addition to massage therapists and spa therapists, we also have an acupuncture, a chiropractor, two fitness specialists, dieticians and zone therapists. One of the impressive treatments I tested was the Ai-Shiatsu performed with your feet. The therapist hangs in wooden trusses on the ceiling and massages with his feet and walks on the back of the customer. Very effective if you have deep knots that need to be solved.

Another exciting treatment method is acupuncture. I decided to try a rejuvenating needle session for the face. Dr. Julianna from Rio, Brazil, began to feel my pulse. Then she placed needles in her face but also on her stomach, legs, hands and feet to achieve a bodily overall balance.

The treatment also included cranosacrial therapy, light massage and extra nutrition for the facial skin with a cream from the Red Flower brand. The treatment felt fantastic and I gained great confidence in Julianna who also taught me some exercises to continue at home.

The last treatment I tried was a Thai massage. The therapist Jintana had an exciting background; She had worked as a massage therapist for the Thai King family!

Of course, it felt hugely luxurious to be treated by such a reputable therapist and I hardly need to clarify that I got a cream creme de la crème of thaimassager ?!

Canyon Ranch SpaClub at Queen Mary 2 truly convinced in terms of genuine dedication and ambition to enhance their guests' health. Should you have the option, a visit here is highly recommended. The cruise can be booked with, for example, Globetrotter.
